Sunday school is a very powerful tool in the church. It is a great opportunity to bask in the presence of God and wash ourselves with his word! Every person needs the word. It does not matter if you have been a Christian for twenty years or twenty minutes you need the powerful word of the Lord! The word is sharper than any two-edged sword, cutting asunder bone from marrow and soul from spirit. Hallelujah! We need the word and we need to seek the face of God. Worship him with body, soul, and spirit. For God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth! OH PRAISE BE TO GOD AND PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!

Thank God for the word; for it is the inspired word of God. The word gives knowledge, and knowledge gives understanding. Understanding brings wisdom. Wisdom and understanding begins with the fear of the Lord. “Without knowledge, my people perish”. The importance of knowledge is very critical. Sunday school is another opportunity to grow and prosper your soul in the word. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Amen. We have a responsibility to put the word in our hearts. As the psalmist said “Thy word oh God have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee”.

The vision of the Sunday School department is to encourage attendance and promote the Gospel, To edify the body of Christ, and to reprove, rebuke, and exhort the body of Christ. I believe that these are the last days and we should hold fast to the truth, which is Jesus Christ. The word will sustain us and He will keep us.

Good teachers are a wonderful blessing. Without good teaching, do we really accomplish the goal of ministering and edifying the body? I enjoy sitting under good, sound teaching. What a treat and a goody it is to leave the class with understanding, and strength for the upcoming week. Also, a great Sunday school class will refresh you and get everyone ready to enter the worship service. The praises come forth and the presence of God fills the house. It is then that miracles, healing, understanding, knowledge, and wisdom will consume the body and the glory of God is given. As David said “ I was glad when they said let us go into the house of the Lord!” Also, David said, “Let us enter into his gates with praise and thanksgiving!” A wonderful Sunday school experience will definitely help usher in the presence of the Lord.

I want a strong Sunday school department that grows in the word and multiplies in number and makes Disciples of Christ. Enter into the service to worship and depart to serve.
